Your privacy matters to us, and FreeToolJar is built to need as little of your data as possible. This policy explains what happens to information when you use the website.
The short version
- There are no accounts, and we don’t ask for your name or email to use any tool.
- We don’t use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.
- Text, PDFs, images and code you use with the tools are processed in your browser and never uploaded.
- A few features look something up online; they are listed below.
Tools that run in your browser
Almost every tool — including the PDF, image, text, developer, design and calculator tools — works entirely on your own device. The files you open and the text you type are not sent to us or anyone else.
Features that connect to the internet
- Website Revenue Calculator and Website Worth Calculator: the website address you enter is sent to our server, which fetches that site’s public homepage, robots.txt and sitemap, its ranking from Tranco and its registration date from the public RDAP registry. Results are cached for up to 24 hours to keep the service fast.
- AI Crawler Checker: the website address you enter is sent to our server, which fetches that site’s public robots.txt.
- Most valuable websites list: our server downloads the public Tranco ranking. Website icons in the list are loaded from DuckDuckGo’s icon service.
- Currency Converter: your browser downloads exchange rates from ExchangeRate-API (open.er-api.com).
- Tweet to Image: your browser asks X’s public embed service for the post you link to.
- Video Thumbnail Grabber: your browser loads thumbnails from YouTube or Vimeo for the video you link to.
We don’t link the website addresses you look up to you, and we don’t sell or share them.
Fonts, code libraries and hosting
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts and some tools load open-source code libraries from cdnjs (Cloudflare) and jsDelivr. The website is hosted by Vercel. Like any web request, these providers receive your IP address and basic browser information, which they may log for security and to run their services, under their own privacy policies.
Information saved in your browser
Some features remember things on your device using your browser’s local storage: your favourite tools, and inputs or settings in tools such as the GPA calculator, invoice generator, URL opener, Pomodoro timer, time zone converter, name picker, brand name generator and website revenue calculator. This data stays in your browser — we can’t see it — and you can remove it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.
If you email us
If you contact us, we use your email address and message only to reply and to help with your request. We don’t add you to mailing lists.
Children
FreeToolJar is a general-audience website and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the website handles data — for example by adding analytics or advertising — we will update this policy first. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
