Split & Rename PDF

Split a PDF into pages, chunks or custom ranges — and name each file from a pattern or from text found on the page.

Private and lossless: pages are copied into new PDFs with pdf-lib — nothing is re-compressed, so text stays selectable and images keep their quality. You can edit any file name in the list before downloading.

About the Split & Rename PDF

Split and Rename PDF breaks a PDF into single pages, fixed-size chunks or custom page ranges, and names every file automatically — either from a pattern with the page numbers, or from the first line of text on each file’s first page. It is ideal for separating a batch of scanned invoices, statements or certificates into individually named files.

How to use the Split & Rename PDF

  1. Choose a PDF or drop it on the page.
  2. Choose how to split: every page, chunks of N pages or custom ranges such as 1-3, 4, 5-9.
  3. Choose file names from a pattern or from text detected on each first page.
  4. Download the split files.

Frequently asked questions

How do I split a PDF into separate pages?

Choose “Every page” and each page becomes its own PDF file.

How does automatic naming work?

In “Detected from text” mode the tool reads the first line of text on each file’s first page — often an invoice number or name — and uses it as the file name.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Splitting happens on your device and nothing is uploaded.
