Hash Generator

Computes MD5, SHA-1, SHA-224, SHA-256, SHA-384 and SHA-512 hashes of any text.

Why it's useful: verify file/text integrity, generate checksums, or produce lookup keys. MD5 and SHA-1 are fine for checksums but shouldn't be relied on for security-sensitive work — prefer SHA-256 or SHA-512 there. Hashing happens locally using your browser's own crypto engine; nothing is uploaded.

Is MD5 secure?

No — MD5 has known collision vulnerabilities and shouldn't be used for passwords or security-critical signatures. It's still fine for quick checksums and non-adversarial deduplication.

About the Hash Generator

The Hash Generator computes MD5, SHA-1, SHA-224, SHA-256, SHA-384 and SHA-512 hashes of any text in one go. Use it to check file and download checksums, compare values without revealing them, generate cache keys or learn how hash functions behave. Hashing uses your browser’s built-in cryptography, so the text you enter is never sent anywhere.

How to use the Hash Generator

  1. Type or paste the text to hash.
  2. Click Compute hashes.
  3. Read the MD5 and SHA family results side by side.
  4. Copy the hash you need.
