Edit Text in Image
Upload a screenshot or picture, click any line of text and type the replacement — the old words are erased and the new ones matched in size and colour.
Tips: after the text is found, click any highlighted line, type the replacement and adjust the font, size and colour — the tool guesses them from the original. Drag the new text to move it. If a word wasn’t picked up, use Draw a box and drag over it. On busy photos, switch the background to Solid colour if the rebuilt area looks smudged. Everything runs in your browser; the first run downloads the text reader (about 2–5 MB) once.
About the Edit Text in Image
Edit Text in Image changes the words inside a picture without design software. It reads the image with OCR, highlights every line of text it finds, and when you click one it erases the old words by rebuilding the background from the surrounding pixels. Type the new text and it is drawn in a size, colour and weight matched to the original, which you can fine-tune or drag into place. Use it to fix a typo on a poster, update a price or date on a flyer, translate a label or mock up a screenshot. Everything runs in your browser, so your images are never uploaded.

- Wait a moment while the text is found, then click the line you want to change.

- Drag the text into place, then download the edited image as PNG or JPG.
Frequently asked questions
How do I change text in a picture?
Upload the picture here, click the highlighted line of text and type the new words. The old text is erased and the new text is drawn in a matching size and colour, then you download the result.
Can it match the original font?
It matches the size, colour and boldness automatically and offers common fonts such as Arial, Helvetica, Georgia and Times New Roman. Exact font identification is not automatic, so pick the closest-looking font from the list.
Why does the background look smudged after erasing?
The gap is rebuilt from nearby pixels, which is almost invisible on plain, gradient and lightly textured backgrounds but can blur detailed photos. Switch the background to Solid colour, or draw a tighter box around the text.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. Text recognition and editing both happen in your browser. Only the free text-reading engine is downloaded the first time you use it.
What if some text is not detected?
Use Draw a box and drag over the missed text to erase it, then type the replacement. Choosing the right language also improves detection.
