Text Glitch Generator
Create an animated RGB-split glitch effect for any text, in pure CSS.
How it works: two copies of the text (the ::before and ::after pseudo-elements, filled from the data-text attribute) are shifted sideways in two colours and sliced with animated clip-path bands. The effect switches off for anyone who has asked their system to reduce motion, and the real text stays readable for screen readers.
About the Text Glitch Generator
The Text Glitch Generator creates an animated RGB-split glitch effect for any text with pure CSS. Choose the font, background, size, intensity, speed and the two split colours, or make it glitch only on hover, then copy the HTML and CSS for eye-catching headings, gaming sites and tech brands.
How to use the Text Glitch Generator
- Type your text and choose a font.
- Set the size, intensity and speed.
- Pick the text and split colours, and turn on “only glitch on hover” if you like.
- Copy the HTML and CSS.
Frequently asked questions
How is the glitch effect made?
Two copies of the text in different colours are layered and shifted with CSS animations and clip-path, creating the flickering RGB-split look.
Is the glitch effect accessible?
Flashing animations can bother some people. The generated CSS respects the reduced-motion setting, and hover-only mode keeps it calmer.
Does it need JavaScript?
No. The effect is pure HTML and CSS.
